Johnny Almond pastored churches for a decade and was awarded the degree Doctor of Theology, before being commissioned as a military chaplain. During his second stateside assignment, he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Drew University, Madison, New Jersey. While stationed at RAF Alconbury, United Kingdom, he completed six courses at the University of Cambridge and earned a Cambridge diploma in religious studies.

His chaplain assignments included Kadena Air Base, Okinawa Japan; the Air Force Academy; and Arlington National Cemetery. Since retiring from the Air Force, he has served as pastor of churches in Virginia. He is currently serving as pastor of Hull’s Memorial Baptist Church in Fredericksburg.

He and his wife, Beverly, have four sons, three grandsons, and two granddaughters.
