Timeless Truth

God continued, “I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, though I did not reveal my name, the LORD, to them.”  Exodus 6:2,3 NLT

Thoughtful Wisdom

“The very word ‘God” suggests care, kindness, goodness; and the idea of God in his infinity is infinite care, infinite kindness, infinite goodness. We give God the name of good: it is only by shortening it that it becomes God.” – Henry Ward Beecher

“When a man surveys his past from middle age, he must surely ask himself what those bygone years have taught him. If I have learned anything in the swift unrolling of the web of time, it is the value of tolerance, of forbearance toward one’s fellowmen.  I have come also to acknowledge the great illusion in the pursuit of a material goal. All the material possessions for which I strove so strenuously mean less to me now than a glance of love from those who are dear to me. Above all I am convinced of the need, irrevocable and inescapable, of every human heart, for God. No matter how we try to escape, to lose ourselves in restless seeking, we cannot separate ourselves from our divine source. There is no substitute for God.” – A. J. Cronin

Today’s Affirmation

Believing God is with me as He was with Abraham in moving, Isaac in laughing, and Jacob in struggling, I will listen hopefully to the melody of the future and dance joyfully by faith through the hours of this day.
